| There may come a time when you want to subtract an ingredient's nutrients from a recipe. For instance, if you always order your Whopper (a hamburger from Burger King) without mayonnaise, you can create a recipe called "Whopper w/o Mayo." To do this, record both the Whopper (it's located in the Fast Foods category along with 3,400 other restaurant menu items) and a tablespoon of mayonnaise. Double-click on the mayonnaise and select the "subtract from recipe" radio button. This tells NutriBase to subtract the nutrients contained in the mayonnaise from the recipe's totals. (The "add to recipe" option is, of course, the default value.) Save the recipe with the name of "Whopper w/o Mayo." Next time you wish to record this for your intake, just click on the Recipe Icon and select this new recipe. You can also subtract the nutrients contained in food items listed in you client's intakes. |
