Web-based file synchronization allows you to run NutriBase on multiple computers in multiple locations and to use the same data (Food Logs, Recipes, etc.) no matter where you are or which computer you are using at the time. If you synchronized three of your computers and you created a recipe on one of your computers, it will appear on your other two computers a moment after you save that recipe. It doesn't matter which of your computers you are using at the moment, what time of day it is, or where your computers are located (as long as they have Internet access).

You can enable web-based file synchronization of your computers by downloading a very popular (and free) web-based file synchronization service called Dropbox. We've tested this service and found it fast and reliable when used with NutriBase.

The NutriBase Setup Program assumes you are using Dropbox as your synchronization service. To synchronize your NutriBase data across your computers, please visit www.dropbox. com and install Dropbox to each of the computers that you plan to run NutriBase on. Do this before you install NutriBase to your computers. Once you create a Dropbox account and install it to your computers, you can install NutriBase to each of these computers... data will be shared amongst your computers immediately after you install NutriBase to them.

Your EULA permits you three installations of NutriBase for your own personal use. You may purchase additional licenses and you can synchronize files with colleagues who have purchased their own NutriBase license. You accomplish this by sharing the Dropbox account with them.

When you make any change to any of your data files, these changes are immediately propagated across all of your computers. If one of your computers is turned off or lacks Internet access, it will be updated as soon as Internet access is restored.

With file synchronization, there is no longer a need to move individual NutriBase files (Recipes, Meal Plans, etc.) from one of your computers to another. If you create a new Recipe or Meal Plan while on the road, you won't have to transfer it to your work computer when you return – it will already be there. You would have the same and the most current data on all of your computers.

If you are one of several colleagues collaborating on a common NutriBase project, you’ll share the most up-to-date Recipes, Food Logs, etc. without the need to check revision numbers or creation dates of your NutriBase data files. All members of the workgroup would be working with the same data.

This first time you synchronize your NutriBase files, it will take a while (usually, just a few minutes) This is because you will be synchronizing 5,000+ files. After all the NutriBase data files on your computer have been synchronized to the Cloud, future synchronizations occur pretty much instantly. This is because only the files that change (and often, only the parts of the files that change) will be transferred during the sync operation.

After you install Dropbox to all your computers and install NutriBase, you are ready to get to work.
